Description:  John Jardim from iShares, a division of BlackRock, will guide a discussion on Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), a way to invest in the Sharemarket without buying shares directly. Learn about how ETFs compare with other index trackers like listed investment companies and managed funds. Understand the difference between “synthetic” and “vanilla” ETFs and how ETFs can be used to invest in bonds, currencies or commodities. The discussion will be facilitated by Pauline Taylor, Finance and Economics Consultant. This is your opportunity to learn more about index funds, a way to invest in a share portfolio through a product that is tradeable and cost effective.
